The terminal, which was built at the cost of around Rs 5,000 crore and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2022, witnessed wet floors, causing inconvenience to passengers.
According to sources, the rain lasted for 30 minutes but the rainwater started seeping into the arrival point, leading to slippery floors. Most senior citizens found it difficult to wade through the water-stagnated surface. This led to stagnation in front of the main gate.
Terminal 2 is designed as a tribute to the garden city of Bengaluru and the passenger experience is meant to be a “walk in the garden.”
Passengers will travel through 10,000+ sq metres of green walls, hanging gardens and outdoor gardens and all of these were made in India using indigenous technology. This airport has already established a benchmark in sustainability with 100 per cent usage of renewable energy across the campus.
