Jamshedpur: If your name has not yet been included in the voter list or you want to correct any information recorded in the electoral roll, the application deadline is approaching. Under Jharkhand Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, the last date for submitting forms has been set as September 30.

The Election Department has appealed to eligible citizens not to wait for the last date and to complete their applications on time. Different forms have been prescribed for adding a name to the voter list, deleting a name or making any kind of correction.

Which Form Is Used for Which Purpose?

Form-6: Form-6 is used for adding a name to the voter list for the first time.

Form-6A: This form is prescribed for Indian citizens living abroad, that is, NRI voters.

Form-7: An application can be made through Form-7 to remove a name from the voter list.

Form-8: Form-8 is used for correction of information recorded in the voter list or services such as transfer under prescribed circumstances.

Apply From Home Using a Mobile

There is no longer a need to visit an office and stand in line in every case to submit an application related to the voter list. Eligible citizens can apply from home through the Election Commission’s online portal.

For this, the relevant form can be filled through the voter services available on the voters.eci.gov.in portal. Voter services can also be accessed through the ECINET App on a mobile phone.
