Jamshedpur: MLA Saryu Rai has raised questions over the construction of the Mango flyover in Jamshedpur. Saryu Rai, who inspected the Mango flyover and Baliguma water tank on Monday, alleged that rules were ignored during the construction work and that there was a lack of coordination between different departments.

Allegation of Ramp Being Built on Forest Department Land

Saryu Rai said that the ramp of the one-way section of the flyover near Payal Cinema has been built on Forest Department land. According to him, the necessary NOC and other clearances were not obtained from the Forest Department before construction.

The MLA claimed that lowering the ramp towards Payal Cinema has narrowed the road, resulting in daily traffic jams at this location.

He also spoke with the executive engineer of the Road Construction Department regarding the matter. Saryu Rai said that before starting construction of any project, it is necessary to obtain the required permissions from the concerned departments. He stressed departmental coordination and compliance with prescribed rules during construction work.

Water Tank Ready for Six Years, But Water Has Not Reached It

Saryu Rai also inspected the Baliguma water tank. He said the water tank has been ready for around six years, but water supply from the main pipeline has not yet started.

The MLA said crores of rupees have been spent on creating the water supply system, but local residents are not benefiting from it. He also raised questions over the arrangement for connecting the water tank to the main pipeline and the delay in the connection.

Emphasis on Departmental Coordination

Saryu Rai said better coordination between the concerned departments is necessary for the construction of public projects. He said there is a need to ensure that work is carried out according to the rules and that pending arrangements are completed soon.
