Patna: In view of the increasing number of passengers during the festive season, the Railways has extended the operation of the special train running between Patna and Islampur. Train number 03297/03298 Patna-Islampur-Patna Special will now serve passengers during October and November as well.
The special train running three days a week between Patna and Islampur via Fatuha has been extended by a total of 26 trips. With this decision by the Railways, passengers travelling on this route during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath will get an additional rail facility.
Train to Run from Patna to Islampur from October 1
According to Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra, the operation of train number 03297 Patna-Islampur Special will now continue from October 1 to November 29, 2026.
This train will depart from Patna for Islampur every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Islampur-Patna Special from October 2
Meanwhile, the operation of train number 03298 Islampur-Patna Special has been extended from October 2 to November 30, 2026.
This train will run from Islampur to Patna every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
No Change in Timetable and Halts
According to the Railways, there will be no change in the train's route, timetable, halts and coach composition during the extended period. The train will continue to operate according to the arrangements already निर्धारित.
Passengers have been advised to plan their journey according to the train's scheduled timings and halts.
Passenger Pressure Increases During Festivals
During major festivals such as Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath, a large number of people return to their homes from other cities. In Bihar, the number of passengers on trains increases particularly during the Chhath festival.
There is also additional passenger pressure on the Patna-Islampur railway section during the festive season. In such a situation, extending the operation period of the special train will provide passengers with an additional rail option on this route.

According to Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra, the operation of the special train has been extended keeping in mind passenger convenience and the possibility of additional crowds during the festive season.
