Patna: A large number of Raiyats are facing difficulties in matters related to updating land records in the district. Since the online system for mutation was introduced, around 11 lakh applications have been received so far. Of these, nearly 4 lakh applications have been rejected, while around 17,000 applications are still reported to be pending.
After the mutation process is completed, the name of the concerned person is entered into the land records. If an application is rejected due to missing documents, errors in information or other reasons, Raiyats have to apply online again.
Applications Have to Be Submitted Again After Rejection
After a mutation application is rejected, the Raiyat has to submit a fresh online application. In such a situation, along with submitting the application, it is also necessary to keep information about the process and required documents at the concerned Circle Office.
In some cases, an application is initially approved but gets rejected during the process. In such a situation, permission from the DCLR Court may be required to submit the application again. This further increases the difficulties faced by people getting land-related work done.
Danapur Has the Highest Number of Pending Mutation Cases
According to subdivision-wise figures, Danapur has the highest number of pending mutation cases. Around 5,000 cases are reported to be pending here. This is followed by Patna Sadar with around 4,500, Masaurhi with 2,400, Patna City with 2,100, Barh with 1,800 and Paliganj with around 800 pending cases.

16,000 Applications Pending for Correction of Errors in Jamabandi
Apart from mutation, around 16,000 applications related to correction of errors in Jamabandi are also reported to be pending. Of these, the highest number, 4,800 applications, are in Danapur subdivision.
Around 2,900 are pending in Patna Sadar, 2,600 in Masaurhi, 2,500 in Barh, 2,100 in Patna City and 1,800 in Paliganj.

A large number of applications are also pending for adding omitted Jamabandi entries to land records. Around 2,800 are pending in Danapur, 2,400 in Patna Sadar, 1,900 in Masaurhi, 1,800 in Barh, 1,600 in Patna City and around 600 in Paliganj.

Around 45,000 Cases Pending Across Three Major Services
In Patna district, a large number of applications are pending across three major land-record-related services—mutation, correction of errors in Jamabandi and addition of omitted Jamabandi entries.
According to the given figures, around 17,000 mutation cases, around 16,000 Jamabandi correction applications and around 12,000 cases for adding omitted Jamabandi entries are pending. This means around 45,000 applications are reported to be pending across these three categories.
The pending cases are causing Raiyats seeking to update their land records to wait. At the same time, if an application is rejected, a fresh application and, in some cases, completion of the relevant judicial/revenue process may be required.
