Kolkata Connection Emerges in Nikhar Sablok Murder Probe

A major development has emerged in the investigation into the high-profile murder of Nikhar Sablok in Jharkhand. A joint SIT has arrested a Kolkata Police Traffic Sergeant and a civic volunteer in connection with the case. Their alleged contact with the prime accused, Ashok Singh Raghav, came under the scanner during the investigation.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ayan Gupta, a Traffic Sergeant with Kolkata Police, and Twinkle Das, who works as a civic volunteer.

Mobile and Call Records Under Investigation

According to investigators, details of contact between prime accused Ashok Singh Raghav and the two arrested individuals emerged during scrutiny of mobile and call records.

Police have alleged that Ayan Gupta helped provide mobile tower location information related to Nikhar Sablok and others. The alleged role of Twinkle Das is also being investigated by the police.

However, these allegations have not yet been independently established by a court, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Nikhar Sablok Was Shot Dead on August 24

Nikhar Sablok was shot dead on August 24 at the 10th Milestone area along NH-33. The incident took place under Chandil Police Station in Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

Police have been investigating a possible land dispute and contract killing angle in the case. Different reports have cited alleged contract amounts of ₹15 lakh and ₹20 lakh. The exact amount has therefore not been established as a final fact.

Several Arrests Already Made

Police have already arrested several accused in the case, including Ashok Singh Raghav, Ankit Singh, Raj Kumar Singh alias Prince, Ritesh Singh, Sushil Kerai and Sunil Rajak.

With the arrest of two people linked to Kolkata Police, the scope of the investigation has now widened. Investigators are trying to determine whether the accused had any alleged role in tracking Nikhar Sablok's movements, conducting reconnaissance or assisting in the alleged murder conspiracy.

Investigation May Reveal More Links

Following the arrests of Ayan Gupta and Twinkle Das, investigators are examining call detail records, mobile locations and the links between the accused to establish the sequence of events.

The police investigation is still underway, and the allegations against the arrested individuals remain subject to judicial proceedings.
