New Delhi: A collision between Indian Navy and Pakistani Navy vessels has been reported in the northern Arabian Sea. The incident took place on the evening of September 15, 2026, in international waters. On Wednesday, India’s Ministry of External Affairs summoned Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires in New Delhi and lodged a strong protest over the incident.

According to the Indian side, a Pakistani naval vessel approached an Indian Navy vessel deployed on a routine surveillance mission and moved at high speed in an unsafe manner, following which the two vessels collided. India’s Ministry of External Affairs described the conduct of the Pakistani naval units as “unacceptable and unprofessional.”

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the incident took place in international waters and caused no major damage. India has described the incident as a violation of Article 10 of the April 1991 agreement between India and Pakistan relating to military activities.

India told the Pakistani diplomat that the concerned Pakistani authorities should instruct their personnel to exercise necessary caution during military activities and comply with the agreements applicable between the two countries. The Indian Charge d’Affaires in Islamabad has also been instructed to lodge a similar protest with Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
