New Delhi: The counting of votes for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) Election 2026 began at 8 AM on Saturday, September 19. Counting is being conducted at the Multipurpose Hall of the University Sports Stadium in North Campus. The results for the four central posts—President, Vice-President, Secretary and Joint Secretary—are expected today.

The DUSU election saw a major contest between ABVP, NSUI and the AISA-SFI alliance. For the President's post, ABVP has fielded Yash Dabas, NSUI has fielded Vijay Shankar Meena, while AISA-SFI has fielded Ananya Raturi.

40.46% Voter Turnout Recorded

Voting for the DUSU election was held on Friday, September 18. According to data received from all 52 polling centres across Delhi University, the overall voter turnout stood at 40.46%.

Counting Underway for Four Central Posts

The counting process will determine the winners for the four key central posts of the Delhi University Students’ Union:

• Vice-President

• Secretary

• Joint Secretary

The results are being closely followed as students await the official outcome of the election.

College-Level Results Also Coming In

Alongside the central DUSU panel, results of student union elections at several individual colleges have also started emerging. Reports have indicated wins for both ABVP and NSUI candidates at different colleges.

Delhi High Court Bans Victory Processions

Ahead of the results, the Delhi High Court ordered a ban on victory processions following the declaration of the DUSU election results. The court also warned of criminal action and contempt proceedings for violations.
