New Delhi. Comedian Pulkit Mani, who participated in a programme with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Madhya Pradesh, has announced the cancellation of three upcoming stand-up shows. According to the comedian, he had been receiving continuous threats, following which his shows in Noida, Lucknow and Kanpur were cancelled.

Pulkit Mani recently came into controversy after performing at Rahul Gandhi's 'Students Ki Goonj' programme in Indore. During the event, he mimicked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following the performance, a debate over his act intensified on social media, along with political reactions.

Mani announced the cancellation of his shows through an Instagram Story on Monday. He said the Noida event was cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances." He also claimed that he had been receiving continuous threats from what he described as "goonda activists."

Following the comedian's statement, questions have been raised about security for his upcoming programmes and the alleged threats against him.
