Bhadohi: Police have registered a case against an X user for allegedly making objectionable and abusive comments on social media about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut. According to police, the action was taken on the basis of a complaint regarding posts and comments made on social media.

According to police, Kotwali police registered the case on Thursday night following a complaint by Praveen Kumar, the social media in-charge of Bhadohi district police. The case has been registered under Sections 79 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.

Allegation of Posting from an X Account

According to Kotwali Station House Officer Shailesh Kumar Rai, on September 17, a post was allegedly made from an X account in the name of ‘Ajay Kumar Pal’, containing an objectionable comment against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Police allege that the same X account was also used to post an allegedly abusive and objectionable comment on a post by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut.

Police Register Case

Based on the complaint, police have started an investigation into the matter. Police are currently examining the social media posts and facts related to the account. Further action in the case will be based on the findings of the investigation.
