Shekhar Singh, the municipal commissioner for Pimpri-Chinchwad, stated that the fire department responded quickly to the distress call, which was received at approximately 2.45 pm.
A fire that started on Friday afternoon inside a candle manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, claimed the lives of at least six workers and injured eight more, according to PTI. In Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad city, the Rana Engineering facility near Talawade was the scene of the fire. According to The Indian Express, Rishikant Chipade, a fire officer with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, stated, “We received a call about the fire at 2:49 pm.” It seems that illicit production of dazzling candles was taking place within the complex. It’s possible that the extremely flammable raw material caught fire and caused a blast.
He continued by saying that the explosion was strong since the building’s walls were severely damaged. After an hour, the fire was extinguished by five or six firemen who had arrived at the scene. Shekhar Singh, the municipal commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad, told PTI that the cause of the incident is still unknown. According to him, the injured have been admitted to hospitals in Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune.
