Jamshedpur: Vishwakarma Puja, dedicated to Lord Vishwakarma, the deity of construction and technology, was celebrated with fanfare across various departments of Tatanagar Railway on Thursday. Railway employees started arriving at their respective departments from the morning and performed the Puja as per rituals. Considerable enthusiasm was seen among railway employees regarding the Puja.

Special preparations had been made for the Puja in different departments of Tatanagar station. One office at the station was temporarily vacated and the tables and chairs placed there were shifted to the platform so that there would be no obstruction during the Puja. Employees cleaned the office premises, installed the idol of Lord Vishwakarma and performed the Puja.

Meanwhile, in one department, the gate opening towards the platform was kept closed. Employees continued to enter the department through the back door and also handled their responsibilities related to train operations. Regular railway work continued alongside the Puja.

On the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja, several attractive and intricately carved idols were installed in different railway departments. Colourful decorations and Puja preparations remained a centre of attraction among employees. Several employees also distributed prasad after the Puja.

Vishwakarma Puja is considered especially important for railway employees involved in technical and operational work. On this day, machines, equipment and resources used at the workplace are worshipped. At Tatanagar Railway too, employees worshipped their workplaces and equipment and prayed for happiness, prosperity and safe work.
