New Delhi: A portion of an under-construction building suddenly collapsed in the Alipur area of North Delhi on Sunday. The incident caused panic at the spot. Police and rescue teams reached the location after receiving information. Initial checks found no reports of anyone being trapped under the debris or any casualties.

According to police, information about the collapse of a portion of the under-construction building in the Alipur police station area was received at around 11:03 AM. Construction work was underway at the time of the incident, and work on laying the concrete slab was in progress. After receiving information about the incident, an ambulance, fire brigade and disaster management teams were also sent to the spot along with a police team.

Preliminary information suggests that the under-construction structure may have suddenly collapsed due to the shifting or falling of the wooden supports used to hold up the slab. Several workers were present at the site at the time of the incident, but rescue and relief teams found all the workers safe. No one was confirmed to be trapped under the debris.

Police inspected the site and also sought information from people involved in the construction work. Police are currently trying to determine the actual cause of the collapse and whether safety standards were being followed during construction.
