Jamshedpur: A message of service and humanity was seen in Jamshedpur on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. Under the joint initiative of Help Cross Society and Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti, assistance materials were distributed among persons with disabilities at the Sadar Hospital premises in Khasmahal.
During the programme, needy persons with disabilities were provided wheelchairs, artificial limbs, hearing machines and tricycles. A large number of persons with disabilities reached the programme venue to receive the assistance materials. The organisers made arrangements to provide the necessary equipment according to the needs of the beneficiaries.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Jamshedpur MP Vidyut Varan Mahato also attended the service programme. Both provided assistance materials to the beneficiaries and interacted with people present at the programme.
During the programme, the guests said that helping needy people is the collective responsibility of society. Highlighting the importance of humanitarian service, they said continuous efforts should be made to ensure that assistance and facilities reach the last person in society.
Several beneficiaries with disabilities were seen happy after receiving the assistance materials. The beneficiaries said that facilities such as wheelchairs, tricycles, artificial limbs and hearing machines would help make their daily lives easier. They expressed gratitude to the people involved in the programme and the public representatives.
According to the organisers, the objective of the programme was to help make needy persons with disabilities more self-reliant by providing them assistive equipment according to their needs. Social organisations and local people also participated in the programme organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with a message of service and humanity.
The programme conveyed a message of promoting the spirit of service and cooperation in society along with providing assistance to needy persons with disabilities.
