Samastipur. Police have launched an investigation after a video allegedly showing misbehaviour with a young woman in Bihar’s Samastipur district went viral on social media. The incident is reportedly from the Bandh Bypass Road near Jagatsinghpur village in the Karpurigram police station area. Following the emergence of the video, police have stepped up action in the matter.

According to reports, the young woman was travelling on the road with a young man on Wednesday. The two reportedly stopped by the roadside for some time to take photographs. During this period, three youths allegedly surrounded the woman. They are accused of behaving indecently with her and abusing her. In the video, some youths can be seen walking behind the woman and allegedly harassing her.

In the viral video, the woman can be seen repeatedly objecting to the youths’ behaviour. While attempting to protect herself, she is also heard saying that she would call her brother. Several other people can be seen in the surroundings, and it has been reported that some individuals recorded the incident on their mobile phones.

After the video circulated on social media late Wednesday evening, police took the matter seriously. The Superintendent of Police has reportedly directed officials to conduct an immediate investigation and take necessary action. Police have said that two youths have been identified on the basis of the video, while the identities and roles of other individuals are being examined.
