New Delhi. Political statements have intensified after a video surfaced allegedly showing misbehaviour and harassment involving a minor boy and girl in Jamui, Bihar. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi questioned the Bihar government over the incident and asked, "Why is no girl safe on the roads of Bihar after 7 pm?" He also demanded strict legal action against those involved.

The incident is reported to have taken place on the evening of September 19. According to police, a minor boy and girl studying in Class 10 were stopped on their way back from coaching by some people in Jamui. They were allegedly assaulted and subjected to misbehaviour. After a video of the incident went viral on social media, police took cognisance of the matter and began an investigation.

In a social media post, Rahul Gandhi referred to the viral video and demanded that the accused be identified and prosecuted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and that punishment be imposed quickly. He also sought answers from the Bihar government regarding the safety of girls in public places.

Police have taken action in the case by registering an FIR against seven people and arresting three accused. Investigation is continuing to identify and arrest the remaining accused. Police have also gathered information from the two affected students and are examining the viral video.

The video linked to the incident has circulated rapidly on social media. However, the complete background of the video and all aspects of the events shown in it can only be established after the investigation is completed. Police have treated the matter seriously and initiated further legal proceedings.
