Vadnagar (Gujarat), September 17: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde made a statement about Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. He said that Prime Minister Modi remains focused on the work of taking the country forward and does not pay attention to allegations made by the opposition.

Shinde attended the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ programme organised in Vadnagar in Gujarat's Mehsana district on the occasion of Prime Minister Modi's 76th birthday. During the event, he was asked about attacks being made by Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra.

In response, Shinde said that Prime Minister Modi keeps his attention focused on the country's development and on taking it forward. According to him, the Prime Minister does not pay much attention to allegations made by the opposition and remains focused on his work.

Shinde made the remarks at a time when political exchanges between the ruling alliance and opposition parties in Maharashtra continue over various issues. Uddhav Thackeray has repeatedly raised questions over the policies of the BJP and the Maharashtra government.

A large number of people and party workers attended the programme organised in Vadnagar on Prime Minister Modi's birthday. During the event, speakers also expressed their views on the Prime Minister's public life and his contribution to the country.

Shinde's statement came amid the ongoing political exchanges in Maharashtra and was seen as a statement of support for Prime Minister Modi from the ruling side.
