NEW DELHI: The much-awaited IPO of India’s largest stock exchange, the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has opened for investors. The IPO application process began on September 17 and will continue until September 21, 2026. NSE has fixed a price band of ₹1,700 to ₹1,785 per share.

The issue is entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS). This means the money raised through the IPO will not go to NSE, but existing shareholders will sell their shares. The total issue size is approximately ₹22,568.94 crore.

NSE’s Strong Market Share

According to data for the three months ended June 2026, NSE had a 93.05% share of India’s cash market, while its share in equity futures stood at 99.72%. In equity options, NSE had a 68.48% market share.

According to NSE, the number of unique registered investors had crossed 13.23 crore as of June 2026.
