Chandil. Police have claimed to have solved the murder of an 85-year-old man in Tulgram under Chowka police station limits in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. According to police, the deceased, Anand Singh Sardar, was allegedly killed by his relative nephew Madhu Singh Sardar, who has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Police also recovered a blood-stained agricultural tool allegedly used in the killing based on information provided by the accused.

According to police, Anand Singh Sardar’s body was found lying in a blood-soaked condition at his home in Tulgram on September 17. After receiving information, Chowka police began investigating the case. During the investigation, Madhu Singh Sardar’s name reportedly emerged, following which he was arrested.

SDPO Shiv Prakash Kumar said during a press conference that Anand Singh Sardar was unmarried and had no children. His cousin nephew, Durga Singh Sardar, used to look after him. According to police, Durga Singh had arranged Madhu Singh’s marriage with his sister-in-law. Madhu had reportedly been under prolonged stress after his wife left with another man.

Police claim that Anand Singh Sardar allegedly taunted Madhu repeatedly over this family situation. Angered by the alleged taunts, Madhu reportedly attacked him with the agricultural tool, resulting in his death. Police said they recovered the blood-stained tool allegedly used in the incident from the accused’s house.

During the investigation, police also said that Madhu had allegedly been involved in another violent incident earlier related to the same family tension. Police investigation and the legal process in that matter are continuing.

Following his arrest, the accused was sent to judicial custody. Police are investigating other aspects of the case, while the recovered weapon and other evidence have been made part of the investigation.
