Political tensions in Kerala have intensified after Leader of Opposition V. D. Satheesan made strong remarks against both the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a recent interaction, Satheesan claimed that CPI(M) could face a political decline similar to its loss of power in West Bengal, citing growing public dissatisfaction and governance concerns.
He also dismissed the BJP’s chances in Kerala, stating that the party is unlikely to win any significant seats in the state. According to him, Kerala’s political environment remains largely resistant to the BJP’s expansion efforts.
The comments come at a time when political activity is picking up pace in the state, with parties preparing strategies for upcoming elections. Analysts believe such statements could further sharpen the contest between the Left Democratic Front and the Congress-led United Democratic Front.
Kerala has traditionally seen a bipolar political battle, and the latest remarks indicate that the competition is set to intensify in the coming months.
