Jamshedpur. Police are preparing to increase monitoring at major congestion points and accident-prone areas to improve traffic management and road safety in the city. During a traffic review meeting, officials were directed to ensure effective deployment of additional police personnel during peak hours and maintain continuous monitoring at key locations.

The meeting reviewed areas where increasing vehicle pressure during busy periods leads to traffic congestion. Officials were directed to arrange diversions and barricading wherever required and ensure effective enforcement of no-entry rules. Action will be taken against vehicle drivers who violate traffic regulations as per the rules.

The traffic police are also preparing special drives against dangerous driving, overspeeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, modified silencers and illegal dark films. Action will also be taken against unauthorised roadside parking and vehicles obstructing traffic.

The administration has also stressed the need for proper road signs and adequate lighting at accident-prone locations. Greater use of CCTV cameras, traffic lights and other technological tools has been proposed to improve monitoring of traffic rules.

Alongside enforcement, police are also focusing on creating awareness among people about traffic rules. Recently, awareness campaigns were conducted at all five traffic police stations in the city, where drivers violating rules were given roses and encouraged to drive safely. Around 240 vehicle drivers were reportedly made aware during the campaign.

The administration is focusing not only on immediate traffic control but also on improving road safety and traffic management over the long term. Necessary measures will be implemented in coordination with the concerned departments.
