Jamshedpur, September 25, 2026: Police have intensified their investigation into a major robbery at a nationalised bank in the city. Given the seriousness of the case, police officials have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The team is examining all aspects of the incident and using technical evidence to trace those allegedly involved.

According to police, CCTV footage from the scene and surrounding areas is being examined following the incident. The investigation team is collecting information about the movements of suspects, routes used to enter and leave the area, and people who were present nearby at the time of the incident. Police are also looking for possible leads through technical means.

Investigating officers suspect that those involved may have conducted a recce of the bank and surrounding area before carrying out the robbery. Keeping this possibility in mind, police are working to connect activities before and after the incident. Bank employees and eyewitnesses are also being questioned to gather more information about the suspects’ appearance and movements.

The SIT has taken documents and available evidence related to the incident into its custody and begun its investigation. Police are examining the case from different possible angles. Officials said further action will be taken based on facts that emerge during the investigation.

Following the robbery, concerns over security at the bank and nearby commercial areas have also increased. Police said surveillance would be strengthened at sensitive locations.
