New Delhi: The Delhi Police Special Cell and Vadodara Crime Branch of Gujarat Police have jointly arrested an alleged member of a narcotics-extortion gang. According to police, around 2 kilograms of heroin was recovered from the accused, with an estimated value of around ₹12 crore.

According to police, the arrested accused has been identified as Kuldeep Swami (31). He is said to be a resident of Churu district in Rajasthan.

Arrest in Joint Operation

The Delhi Police Special Cell and Vadodara Crime Branch conducted a joint operation based on inputs linked to an alleged drug network. During the operation, the accused was arrested and alleged Pakistan-origin heroin was recovered from his possession.

Police are now trying to determine how the recovered narcotics reached Delhi and who else may have been involved.

Network Investigation Underway

Investigating agencies are questioning the accused to determine the role of other people allegedly connected to the narcotics network and extortion activities. Police are also investigating the source of the recovered heroin and its possible supply chain.

The allegations made by police will ultimately be subject to the judicial process.
