In view of the adverse weather, authorities have increased vigilance in vulnerable areas. Heavy rain has also affected road and traffic conditions, with reports of restrictions or controls on movement along some highways.

Continuous rainfall is expected to raise water levels in several rivers and streams. People living in low-lying areas have been advised to take extra precautions. The administration and local security agencies are reviewing preparations to deal with possible flooding and landslides.

The risk of landslides also increases in Nepal’s hilly regions during heavy rainfall. Travellers may face difficulties if debris blocks roads and routes become inaccessible. For this reason, additional caution is being exercised regarding vehicle movement on some vulnerable highways.
