Patna, September 25, 2026: Several areas of the Bihar capital Patna were waterlogged following continuous heavy rain. Water accumulated on roads and in low-lying areas, causing difficulties for commuters. After normal life was affected by the rainfall, the Patna Municipal Corporation intensified its drainage operations.

Municipal teams have been activated in waterlogged areas. Pumping machines and other equipment are being used to drain the accumulated water. Municipal workers are reaching different locations to remove water from roads and clear waste accumulated in drains. Officials are continuously monitoring the drainage situation.

Heavy rain also affected traffic movement on several major roads as water accumulated on the streets. Two-wheeler riders and pedestrians faced the most difficulty. Water was also reported around houses and shops in some low-lying areas.

The Municipal Corporation is installing pumps on a priority basis at locations where waterlogging complaints have been received. The condition of drains and outlets is also being checked to identify and remove obstructions affecting water flow.

According to officials, additional teams have been deployed in waterlogging-prone areas during the rain. Authorities have directed that pumping machines and other necessary resources remain ready in view of the weather conditions.

The administration has appealed to people to avoid unnecessary travel on waterlogged roads and maintain a safe distance from electric poles and open manholes during rainfall. The Municipal Corporation said drainage operations would be intensified further as the rain subsides so that conditions in affected areas can return to normal as soon as possible.
