Lucknow, September 25, 2026: Continuous heavy rain and strong winds have disrupted normal life in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Standing crops have been damaged, while waterlogging has been reported in several areas. Damage to houses and other properties has also been reported in some places. In view of the situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to speed up relief and rescue operations.

The Chief Minister has instructed authorities to immediately conduct surveys of the affected areas and begin the process of providing compensation to eligible people as per the rules. Officials have been asked to complete the surveys within the stipulated time so that the extent of the damage can be accurately assessed and government assistance can be provided to those affected.

Farmers are particularly concerned about crop damage caused by the rain. Waterlogging in fields has affected crops in several areas. The administration has been directed to assess farmers’ losses on priority. Information about damaged houses and other properties has also been sought.

The Chief Minister told officials that there should be no negligence in relief operations. Emphasis has also been placed on providing affected people with food, drinking water and other necessary assistance as required. Administration and relief teams have been instructed to remain active in vulnerable areas.

The administration has appealed to people to avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather and follow directions issued by local authorities.

The government said that after completion of the damage assessment, eligible affected families and farmers will be provided relief funds according to the applicable rules.
