Jamshedpur, September 25, 2026: Continuous heavy rain brought traffic and daily life in Jamshedpur to a standstill on Friday. Waterlogging was reported in several parts of the city, causing difficulties for commuters. The area around the RD Tata Roundabout was among the worst affected, with rainwater accumulating on the road and disrupting traffic movement.

According to local residents, more than two feet of water had accumulated on the road around the roundabout. The rising water level made it difficult for small vehicles to pass through. Several motorists were seen using alternative routes to avoid the water, while traffic moved at a very slow pace in some areas, increasing congestion.

The heavy rain also raised concerns over the city’s drainage system. Continuous rainfall put additional pressure on drains and the drainage network, with water remaining accumulated along roadsides at several locations. Local residents said waterlogging has repeatedly become a problem during heavy rain, affecting their daily activities.

The waterlogging affected not only traffic but also nearby shopkeepers and pedestrians. People crossing the waterlogged roads had to proceed with caution, while two-wheeler riders faced additional difficulties.

Amid the rain, the administration and concerned departments made efforts to restore the drainage system. Residents called for a permanent solution to waterlogging-prone areas so that similar problems do not occur every time the city receives heavy rainfall.

Amid weather department warnings about rainfall, the administration has appealed to people to remain alert. People have particularly been advised to avoid unnecessary travel on waterlogged roads.
