Chhapra, Bihar: The second entry opened for passenger convenience at Chhapra Junction, one of the Class-1A category stations under the Varanasi division, is rapidly proving useful. More than 10,000 passengers are reportedly using the entrance every day to enter the station premises and reach different platforms. A ticket counter has also become operational at the second entry, where passengers can purchase general tickets.

The opening of the second entry has reduced the crowd and pressure at the station’s main entrance. The route has particularly proved convenient for passengers coming from areas around the station. After entering the station premises through the second entry, passengers can reach the platforms relatively easily.

One of the key features of this entrance is easy access to Platform 8. Trains operating between Chhapra and Gomti Nagar depart from Platform 8. The train leaves Chhapra Junction, passes through Chhapra Kacheri and proceeds towards the Thawe rail section. This has increased the importance of the second entry for passengers using this train.

The second-entry premises have been made wider and more organised. Parking space for around 200 vehicles is available there. This has made it more convenient for passengers to arrive at the station in private vehicles and return after their journey.

The facility, developed with the aim of improving passenger amenities at the local level, could become more important in the future. The number of passengers is expected to increase if operations of some additional trains are started from this side.

The construction of Chhapra Junction’s second entry was carried out on the initiative of local MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy. It is being viewed as an additional entry and exit option as part of efforts to develop the station and expand passenger facilities. With passenger movement increasing, the second entry could become a major gateway to Chhapra Junction in the coming time.
