New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday carried out a major organisational reshuffle, appointing party in-charges and co-in-charges for all 28 states and eight Union Territories. Under the changes, BJP national general secretary Smriti Irani has been given charge of Haryana and Chhattisgarh, while party national vice-president Ram Madhav has been assigned responsibility for Tamil Nadu.
As part of the organisational changes, leaders have been given new responsibilities for different states and Union Territories. The appointments are aimed at strengthening coordination between the party organisation and leadership in the respective states.
As part of the reshuffle, the BJP has appointed Anil Baluni as coordinator of the party’s communication department. The department oversees work related to the BJP’s national media cell and social media unit. Baluni’s role will therefore be important in coordinating the party’s media and digital communication campaigns.
Following these appointments, a new structure of organisational responsibilities has emerged across different states and Union Territories. The new responsibilities have been assigned at a time when the party is focusing on strengthening organisational activities in different states and preparing for upcoming political programmes.
The newly appointed in-charges and co-in-charges will be responsible for coordinating with their respective state organisations, facilitating party activities and maintaining better coordination between the central leadership and state units.
