Patna: Nandan Yadav, the main accused who had been absconding in the widely discussed Jamui case involving alleged harassment and misbehaviour with a minor girl, was injured in an encounter with police on Tuesday. Police said he sustained a gunshot wound to his leg during the encounter.

According to information provided by the police headquarters, Nandan Yadav had been absconding in the case and was allegedly trying to escape from the police. During this time, police personnel confronted him.

Police said the accused was shot in the leg during the encounter, after which he was apprehended.

Following the shooting, Nandan Yadav was admitted to a hospital for treatment. Police have not yet provided detailed information about his condition or the severity of his injury.

The case relates to allegations of harassment and misbehaviour involving a minor girl in Jamui district. Police had launched an investigation following the incident, and a search was underway after the main accused reportedly went absconding.
