MUNGER: A 15-year-old boy was shot dead in Bihar’s Munger district on Saturday in the Safiasarai area. The deceased has been identified as Ishant Kumar. The incident caused panic in the locality.

According to preliminary information, Ishant Kumar was allegedly targeted over an old dispute. The attackers reportedly opened fire on him in broad daylight and fled the spot. The teenager sustained serious gunshot injuries.

After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and took the teenager to hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused. CCTV footage from the scene and surrounding areas is being examined. Investigators are trying to determine whether the old dispute was the main reason behind the killing or whether there was another motive.

No arrests have been made so far. Police said further action will be taken based on the investigation.
