In the much-discussed triple murder case in Gunja Devanjara village under Ormanjhi police station area of Ranchi, the court has sentenced all 11 convicts, including a woman, to life imprisonment. The court of Additional Judicial Commissioner Arvind Kumar-2 announced the sentence on Thursday after hearing arguments on the quantum of punishment.

The court also imposed a fine of ₹50,000 each on all the convicts. If the prescribed fine is not deposited, the convicts will have to undergo additional punishment. With the court's decision, an important stage of the judicial process in the long-running case has come to an end.

The case is related to the murder of three people in Gunja Devanjara village in Ormanjhi. After the incident, police began an investigation and collected evidence against the accused before presenting the case before the court. During the hearing, arguments were made regarding the evidence presented by the prosecution against the accused and the statements of witnesses.

After the hearing, the court had found all 11 accused guilty. This was followed by a hearing on the quantum of punishment. On Thursday, the court sentenced the convicts to life imprisonment along with a financial penalty.

Following the verdict, the victim families have renewed hope of getting justice in the case, which has continued for a long time. However, the convicts retain the legal option to appeal against the court's decision before a higher court. The verdict is considered significant in the judicial proceedings of the triple murder case, which has remained widely discussed in Ranchi district.
