The civic polls saw a strong performance by candidates supported by the BJP, who managed to outpace rivals across multiple wards. The results are being viewed as a significant political boost for the party in Panaji.

Meanwhile, the ‘Ami Panjekar’ panel led by Utpal Parrikar fell short of expectations, failing to secure enough seats to pose a serious challenge. Despite putting up a competitive fight in select wards, the panel could not convert its campaign momentum into widespread electoral success.

Political observers noted that organizational strength, local-level coordination, and voter outreach played a key role in the BJP-backed panel’s victory. The outcome also reflects continued support for the party’s governance at the local level.
