A UAE national Yakoobb Mohammed Ahmed was carrying a UAE passport and had arrived in Mumbai on 31st March by a flight number EK 500 from Dubai, the agency claims to have Seized 9 kg of gold worth rupees 4.62 crore at Mumbai during a search.

According to the AIU during the search of his handbag customs officials found 10 pieces of 24 carat gold bars with 8 pieces weighing 500 gram each adding up to netw orth of 9 kg.

Yakoob intersepted on April 1 while trying to leave the arrival hall through the exit Gate after passing the green channel. He confessed to ownership of seized gold.
